Having spent years as an ER physician, Founder and CEO Mark Prather witnessed first-hand the inefficiencies in traditional facility-based models. Dispatch started locally in Denver, initially offering in-home nurse-practitioner care as an alternative treatment pathway for 911 calls. Alta Partners Managing Director Pete Hudson organized a seed financing as Mark set initial goals for proof of concept. All were met and Alta co-lead the Series A the following year.

Fast forward to today, Dispatch Health is providing four distinct mobile care platforms across the United States and saving hundreds of millions of dollars for payers and patients.

The ER in the home business model is gaining significant traction and has partnered with leading health systems and payers across the country. COVID-19 has increased the demand for home based services, and reinforced the rationale for this care model which covers close to 80% of everything an emergency department can treat. • Advanced Care is Dispatch’s in home hospitalization platform, where patients with a medical diagnosis can receive 2-5 days of hospital-quality care for Pneumonia, COPD, congestive heart failure, and many other conditions. This saves costs and reduces the exposure to hospital borne infections.
• Extended Care is a post acute solution to transition patients from hospital to home, or out of the costly nursing home environment.
• Telehealth augments Dispatch’s in home solution with the ability to escalate to in home care as needed.
